15 - OUR LIFE IS THE MESSAGE

1 Thessalonians 1:8b

8Therefore, we do not need to say anything about it...

There is something special about the right, good, small actions that speak louder than lots of words.  No need for self-promotion, PR, bios, profiles or marketing.  And what makes it more gratifying is when word gets out and gets back to you (2nd and 3rd hand positive rumor or gossip is particularly gratifying 😄), that something you did has had a good impact or positive influence on others.

Our service for Him as managers and leaders - as we do our jobs - is not about the applause or the recognition, but about transforming the world around us and being part of His wholeness and restoration process. Knowing that those we've touched for God and for good have also done the same for others, speaks volumes in ways no ad or internal change management campaign can.

Like Jesus who poured His life into a few, so Paul understood investing in people very well. It wasn't about the masses; it was about a few transformed lives, one life and one day at a time.  We have no idea what good effect our lives, one small action or word, can have on people...often without our knowing it.  His ability to multiply one quality seed planted in His name is astounding.  And by the way, investing in the development and improvement of others is also 'smart business'.

PRAYER ACTION

Lord, thank you that this life I am trying to live for you is all about mercy and grace and getting things essentially on credit.  But I don't want to live and work and walk on eggshells wondering who's watching or measuring me...I simply yield myself to you...work things out in me and if, by your merciful credit, something I say or do touches or inspires another...well, praise the Lord!

It's all about you anyway!

"To fulfill the high calling which God has placed upon us in creating us and redeeming us, we must have the right inner substance or character. We must come to grips with who we really are, inside and out. For we will do what we are."
